PROJECT CHECKLIST PART TWO: BASIC MARKET ANALYSIS
The next step in designing a successful project is to study what market
characteristics the intended area features. Some questions to ask, in
detail, are:
What is the actual vacancy rate in your neighborhood, and on your block?
What types of businesses can the neighborhood support?
Which of those businesses are succeeding, and what does
this say about market demand?
Which operating costs do neighborhood landlords commonly charge their
commercial tenants?
Do other neighborhood landlords offer commercial tenants financial allowances
to construct improvements?
When you've given these concerns some study, it's time to look at some
financial considerations.
