PROJECT CHECKLIST PART FOUR: FINDING TENANTS
Keeping your project's leasable spaces occupied by good tenants
is crucial to its long term success.
Here are some questions to ask about the first step --finding them:
How will you reach potential tenants?
Have you cultivated existing businesses that might be ready
to expand or relocate to your space?
How can community organizations help you develop tenant and
customer bases?
Can your local Small Business Development Center help you with
tenant recruitment and services?
Who will answer phone calls from potential tenants, make appointments,
and show the spaces to them?
Who in your organization is ultimately responsible for the
success of your leasing program?
Is it worthwhile to use a broker to handle leasing of your
commercial space, or can you do it in house?
After finding a pool of potentially appropriate tenants, the next
step is to conduct the process of
qualifying them.
