PROJECT CHECKLIST PART fIVE: QUALIfYING TENANTS

Qualifying tenants before leasing avoids disappointment for both parties, and keeps your project on track financially. Here are some questions to ask about this important procedure:

• What is your process for making sure that prospective tenants have the actual resources they claim to?

• Who will make sure that your tenants have liability insurance before they occupy the space?

• How will you make sure that tenants have fully approved construction and finishes before spending money?

• If a tenant is a good fit but cannot qualify financially, what -- if anything -- can you do?
