PROJECT CHECKLIST PART SEVEN: ESTABLISHING TENANT POLICIES
Good relationships require well-considered policies. Here are
a few of the many tenant policy questions you'll want to ask:
How will you schedule use of common facilities such as conference
rooms?
Are you going to charge your tenants for common area costs, or
will those be included in their rents?
Whose responsibility will it be -- yours or tenants' -- to
perform common maintenance, such as sweeping the front sidewalks?
How will you bill tenants for utilities? Will tenant utilities
be included in the rent? Will your building’s spaces be separately metered?
How will you monitor the business health of your existing commerical
tenants?
